Twitch NOW — Privacy Policy

Twitch NOW is a browser extension that shows which channels you follow on Twitch are live right now and notifies you when they go live. This policy explains what data the extension handles and how it is used. The short version: everything stays on your device, and nothing is ever sent to us or to any third party.

1. Who provides this extension

Twitch NOW is an independent extension. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Twitch Interactive, Inc. “Twitch” is a trademark of its respective owner.

2. Data the extension handles

Twitch NOW does not operate any server or backend. It talks directly to Twitch’s official API and stores everything locally in your browser using the standard extension storage area (chrome.storage.local). The following data is involved:

Twitch access token (obtained through Twitch’s official login) Authenticates requests to Twitch so the extension can read which channels you follow are live. Stored locally on your device; sent only to Twitch.
Your Twitch username & user ID Identifies your account and matches it to the channels you follow. Stored locally on your device.
Live-stream details (channel names, game, title, viewer counts, thumbnails) Displayed in the extension popup. Cached locally on your device.
Your preferences (theme, density, sort/filter, favorites, notification settings, quiet hours) Remembers how you like the extension to behave. Stored locally on your device.

identity Runs Twitch’s official OAuth login so you can connect your account.
storage Stores your token, preferences, and the cached live-channel list on your device.
alarms Schedules the periodic background check for newly-live channels.
notifications Shows a desktop notification when a followed channel goes live.
offscreen Plays the optional go-live notification sound.
api.twitch.tv, id.twitch.tv The only websites the extension contacts — Twitch’s API and login.

The extension communicates only with Twitch. Your use of Twitch is governed by Twitch’s own Privacy Notice and Terms of Service.

Twitch NOW is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone. It stores no personal data off your device.
