FlowRead is built on one principle: your reading is your business. The app works entirely on your device. No server, no account, no data leaving your phone — ever.
What data FlowRead processes
None that leaves your device. The app stores your imported books, reading progress per book, and your settings locally on your device. No data is transmitted anywhere.
What FlowRead does not do
- No analytics or usage tracking of any kind.
- No advertising or ad networks.
- No cookies.
- No user accounts or registration.
- No network requests of any kind during normal operation.
- No transmission of any data to any server controlled by the developer or any third party.
- No crash reporting services.
Local storage
All data is stored locally on your device using SQLite and the iOS file system. The app stores:
- Your imported book files (converted to an internal
.rsvpformat) - Reading progress (word index) per book
- Your reading preferences and settings
You can delete all app data at any time by deleting the app from your device. There is no account to delete and no server-side data to request removal of, because none was ever created.
Third-party SDKs and libraries
FlowRead uses no third-party SDKs that collect data. The app uses only Apple system frameworks and the following open-source libraries, none of which collect, transmit, or report any data:
expo-haptics— haptic feedbackexpo-sqlite— local database storageexpo-file-system— file import and managementreact-native-gesture-handler— touch gesture recognitionreact-native-reanimated— animationsJSZip— EPUB parsing (ZIP extraction)fast-xml-parser— EPUB metadata parsing
Fonts
The app bundles Atkinson Hyperlegible and Lexend as static assets, both under the SIL Open Font License. No font loading services or CDNs are called. All fonts are included within the app bundle.
Encryption
FlowRead uses only standard iOS data storage APIs. The app's
Info.plist declares ITSAppUsesNonExemptEncryption: false.
No custom encryption is implemented.
Your choices
- Delete individual books from within the app's library screen.
- Delete all app data (books, progress, settings) by uninstalling the app from your device.
- There is no account to delete, and no data stored outside your device to request removal of.
Children's privacy
FlowRead does not collect any information from anyone, including children. The app is a fully offline reading tool with no sign-up, no account, and no network access.
