Common Questions

How does Kira store my data?
Kira stores your core expense data locally on your device. Your expenses, categories, tags, and settings are kept on-device by default. AI features are optional and use only the minimum information needed for the current action.
Does Kira connect to my bank?
No. Kira does not require a bank connection. You add expenses manually, by voice, or by scanning receipts. No bank login is ever asked for.
Does Kira use AI?
Yes, for optional smart features like voice parsing, assistant chat, and receipt help. AI requests are stateless and only include the information needed for the current action. Your full expense history is never sent to an AI model.
Can Kira read Apple Wallet transactions?
No app can freely read all Apple Wallet transactions directly — this is an Apple restriction. Kira can support Apple Pay logging through iOS Shortcuts where available, so you can trigger a quick review flow when you make a payment.
How do I restore Premium?
Open Kira → Settings → Restore purchases. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple ID you used to purchase.
How do I delete my data?
Open Kira → Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete all expenses. This removes all expense entries from your device. The action cannot be undone.
How do I export my data?
Open Kira → Settings → Data & Privacy → Export data. This feature is available to Premium users.

Troubleshooting

Voice input does not understand me

Check your Voice language in Settings and make sure Kira has microphone permission. Speak naturally including the amount and merchant name — for example, "Spent twelve euros at Lidl". Try a quieter environment if recognition is inconsistent.

Receipt scan did not detect the right amount

Retake the photo in good lighting and make sure the receipt is flat and well-aligned within the frame. Always review the extracted result before saving — Kira shows you the parsed fields and lets you correct anything before confirming.

Notifications do not work

Check that notification permission is granted in iOS Settings → Kira → Notifications. Also confirm your daily reminder settings inside the app under Settings → Notifications.
